ABOUT Gina Dawn;

Gina Dawn is a survivor, she has bounced back from a massive cerebral infarction {aka stroke} at age 17, and a type of cancer which is usually fatal in her late twenties and much more. Her rollercoaster ride of a life is expressed through her stories, funky poems and prose. She also does advocacy for persons with brain injuries. Forever finding new coping and management skills for memory improvement and the challenges the brain injured have need of. Book reviews are a favorite pastime for her.
She is  a Canadian mountain girl who wears Harley Davidson boots, with her jeans tucked inside. Her daughter always says “Mum where is the flood? “and, “Mum untuck your jeans from those stupid boots, you look like a farm girl!” Gina responds “Honey, I am a farm girl” lol
She grew up on a ranch in the Caribou mountains. A little slice of heaven and her Dad’s Hobby farm tax deduction, for his contracting company. They had seven natural springs there and everyone raved about her Mom’s coffee, regardless of which brand she used!
Gina loves to write poetry down by the river, with her dogs beside her, She is a student of humanity, . She also advocates for persons with brain and head injuries which she finds rewarding. She loves to learn new things and meet new people, it’s a great way to expand ones horizons.  This  copyrighted poem of  hers entitled I remember,
tells her whole story:

I REMEMBER

I remember cinnamon and nutmeg,  thickening the air;

Flying saucers,   made of Corning ware;

Scrawny screaming Mama’s, dashing here to there;

Bubbly consoling Auntie’s over dresssed with flare;

Turbine building Daddy’s polished to a glare

Wet backed horses, no one else would dare;

To mount to ride, to chase down the bear;

On my quarter horse of grand confirmation,

I was ten feet tall and could not be taken!

No return, no surrender!

Gina Dawn
